Dr. Iñaki Gutiérrez

Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi)

Iñaki Gutierrez Ibarluzea is President of the Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi) 2019-2021; Director of Innovation of the Basque Foundation for Health Innovation and Research; Coordinator of Osteba, Basque Office for Health Technology Assessment and the Task Force for Genomics and Public Health, Spain; Visiting Director HTA and Market Access at Health Cluster Network and member of the Technical Advisory Group on HTA and Universal Health Coverage, WHO.
Dr. Gutierrez-Ibarluzea has BSc and MSc in Sciences and Doctor in Sciences (NeuroScience) from the University of the Basque Country UPV-EHU, Masters in Epidemiology from the University of Granada and the Andalusian School of Public Health and Masters in Bioethics from the University Ramon Llul and the Institute Borja of Bioethics.
He has collaborated on EU funded projects such as Innovation and HTA, European Network for HTA, Public Health Genomics I and II, Alzheimer in Europe, Personalised Medicine, DISCHARGE, VALIDATE-HTA, EXACT, CSA-PERMED, TBMED, INNO4COVID19 and SAFENMEDTECH. Dr. Gutiérrez-Ibarluzea has been an advisor and evaluator in call for funds at local, regional, country (Spain, Poland, Korea and UK) and EU levels (FP7, COST and Horizon 2020). Recently, he collaborated with WHO-Europe as expert advisor and evaluator on program for Medical Devices.
Iñaki has been advising HTA initiatives in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, Tunisia, Israel, the Horizon Scanning initiative of EEUU, Norway and Italy, WHO-EMRO region and WHO health technologies unit.
Dr. Gutiérrez-Ibarluzea is author of more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, 50 monographies, 4 Clinical Practice Guidelines, 5 books, 4 book chapters, Associated editor of Frontiers in Pharmacology and Health Outcomes Research and HiNT journals and Member of the editorial board of EUPHA and IJTAHC journals.
