Assoc. Prof. Georgi Iskrov

Georgi Iskrov is an Associate Professor of Health Economics at the Medical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. From 2008 to 2013, Georgi was an International Projects Manager at the Information Centre for Rare Diseases and Orphan Drugs (now part of the Institute for Rare Diseases in Plovdiv, Bulgaria). At this position, he participated in various EU-funded public health research projects on rare diseases, including Orphanet, EUROPLAN, BURQOL-RD, EPIRARE and RARE-Best Practices. Since 2013, he has been Head of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) at the Institute for Rare Diseases, working with national and international stakeholders in HTA of orphan medicinal products.
Georgi holds MSc in Business Administration (2012) and in Public Health (2015), as well as a PGDip in Health Economics (2018). In 2016, he completed a PhD research and successfully defended a PhD thesis, titled “Complex postmarketing analysis of orphan drugs”.
Georgi’s research interests include pharmacoeconomic evaluation, patient-reported outcomes, multi-criteria decision analysis and epidemiological registries.
